This unique blend is a combination of 50% Syrah and 50% Zinfandel. Many times I like Zinfandel with only a short barreling time verses things like Syrah and Cabernet benefit from much longer barrel aging. High tone cherry fruit with a bright fruit, the nose resembles many Chiantis. In addition this wine shows a focused structure in keeping with this Central Italian wine. This unusual blend is meant to be consumed with very rich heavy foods.  Hillcrest Vinyard is located in the beautiful Umpqua Valley in Southern Oregon. It is Oregon oldest estate winery.
